Late last year, I got the brilliant idea to start couponing and happened upon a local blogger's site, WNY Deals and To-Dos. Little did I know what I was in store for. I began by reading through the Tops match ups. If I had questions, I would ask in her Facebook group. There were so many helpful members, my questions were often answered soon. I picked up on the whole couponing gig pretty quickly (if I must say so, myself), and soon, I was the one fielding questions from newbies, as well as from those who had been couponing longer than me.
I soon developed a friendship with the owner, Christina, and when her third blogging anniversary was upon us, I met one of her good friends, Amanda, another blogger who writes at Mom's Coupon Affair. Shortly thereafter, we too became close friends. These women are absolutely nutty, insane, and I am honored to call them my friends. Upon their urging because I'm "so good at this" and should apparently start my own blog, which I constantly told them I had no intentions to because I didn't want to deal with the bullshit that comes with blogging, I have decided to start this blog.
Really, this blog is a result of "behind the scenes" action that many will never know. You see, "Getting Crap with Coupons" is actually a joke because I always call the stuff I buy crap, and when we were talking about joining forces and starting fresh, I said how about "Getting Crap with Coupons". I figured it's easy to remember, and pretty neutral, kind of funny, but conveys the idea of how much stuff you can actually get. Well I guess the joke is on all of us...
